Enjoy a 3 course lunch, which falls just before the weekend of the final British Lions test match against the All Blacks in New Zealand, followed by entertainment from Nigel Owens MBE, as he shares his experiences and stories as one of the World’s leading Rugby Union referees.
Appointed as an international referee in 2005, Nigel holds the record of most international test matches refereed with a total of 74, including 13 games in 3 World Cups (2007, 2011 & 2015) one of which was in the 2015 World Cup final at Twickenham between The All Blacks and Australia.
As an after-dinner speaker Nigel combines his natural sense of humour and anecdotal tales of his times refereeing decisive games, as well as some of the funnier sides of the game that the cameras do not always capture.
In short, Nigel is a formidable speaker and is regarded as one of the funniest Rugby Speakers in the country with his stories and unique approach.
Dave Bryon, former MD of the airline bmibaby, writer, newspaper columnist, comedian, raconteur and very fine gentleman, will be your Master of Ceremonies for the afternoon.
